At Geriacare Nursing Home, our staff are more than caregivers—they’re the heart and soul of our community. Today, we’re excited to shine a light on one of our most beloved team members: Nurse Angela, a registered nurse whose warmth, dedication, and laughter brighten our halls every day.

That’s how Angela describes her work at Geriacare, and it’s clear she means it. With over 12 years of experience in elder care and five years on the Geriacare team, Angela brings a perfect blend of clinical expertise and deep compassion to everything she does.
“Sometimes all someone needs is a hand to hold or a smile to start the day,” she says. “We care for the whole person here—their health, their stories, their spirit.”
A Day in the Life
Angela’s day typically begins with morning rounds—checking on residents, reviewing care plans, and chatting with early risers. But her favorite part of the job?
“It’s the little moments,” she says. “Helping someone get ready for bingo, hearing a resident tell a story from their youth, or seeing a family smile during a visit—those are the things I carry home with me.”
Angela is also known for going the extra mile—remembering birthdays, advocating for residents’ needs, and mentoring new team members with grace and patience.
A Heart for Healing
Outside of her shift, Angela is passionate about continuing education and often attends workshops on senior wellness and dementia care. “Our residents deserve the best, and that means we never stop learning,” she says.
She’s also an advocate for family involvement and believes strongly in keeping loved ones engaged in the care journey. “We’re a team—and that includes the families. I always want them to feel welcome and heard.”

- Hobbies: Gardening, reading historical fiction, and long walks with her dog, Max
- Hidden Talent: She’s a fantastic piano player and occasionally plays for residents during weekend brunch!
